This morning**...between sips of coffee and bites of eggs...**I was flipping through the new W and these sweet snappy snaps by Mert Alas caught my eye...I couldn't help but add a few dots, lines and words here and there...Don't you love that mask?!

Cozy...

I headed to my friend Julie's loft in Tribeca last night for an evening of cozy cooking with chef Dawn Perry...we made a tasty tasty meal that included:
Basic Tomato Sauce
Spaghetti with Turkey Meatballs
Garlic Bread
White Beans with Rosemary and Vinegar
Spinach and Ricotta Gnudi
Sauteed Broccoli Rabe wtih Garlic and Olive oil
and for dessert...Affogato
Yum...I wish I had more pics to share but I was too busy enjoying myself :)

Influence this...

Can you name the top five...or ten people who have influenced your work? I've been thinking about these influences (pertaining to my art)...and thought I would share them with you (every once and awhile)...even if you don't really get it maybe you'll get it...
The first person that came to mind was this guy Matt that I knew when I was 17...He was a free spirit unlike anyone or anything I'd ever known...He exposed me to poets, musicians and ways of creating...but most importantly, he showed me that it was okay to peel back my eyes and look, really look...and snap snap snap away...or just look.

I had my second cup of Saturday coffee in a sweet little Tribeca coffee shop...
Just around the corner there were birds on a wall...

**oh and on a random note...if you're a fan of Paris...you must check out Paris Je T'aime...I started watching a few of the shorts last night and they're perfect for a little pick me up...especially if your heart occasionally aches for the city of lightsss...

It's not what you think...

picked up a surfing mag this morning and drew my girls in the corner....wrote a list of it all...caught it in my hands and tucked it in my pocket...

I'm a fish and I can swim...

sand on your feet and not in your sheets...something like that...
